Ever since I have upgraded my Lenovo y40 laptop to Windows 10, it has been getting error messages at startup, saying both media test failure, as well as no bootable device. Here is a picture of my laptop posting, and then saying media test failure, check cable.

I haven't seen the no bootable device error recently, because I tried replacing the stock hard drive with an ssd, but I still continue to get the media test failure error. In bios, it now says that my hard drive is detected, while before I had swapped the drives, it wouldn't detect the hard drive in bios.

Even though my hard drive is detected, my computer still won't load windows, or anything other than the bios for that matter. I also want to add that around a month ago, my laptop would load windows perfectly fine, but would later only work half the time, and now it won't load Windows at all. The only things I can currently access are the bios, and a menu that includes the bios, normal startup, boot menu, and system recovery.

Besides bios and and boot menu, everything takes me back to this screen:

Bios works, but boot manager takes me to this screen:

Once i make a choice, I once again get taken back to this screen:

Once when I selected system recovery, it worked, and after a series of steps I reset my laptop, and it worked fine for about two days, but then the same hard drive problems started up. This was when I swapped out the hard drive for an ssd. While it is detected, it still doesn't work, and I continue to have the same problems. I have searched over many forums and websites, trying to find a solution, but none have worked. I have tried reseating the hard drive, tweaking various settings in the bios, as well as even swapping out the old hard drive. I can't take it in to Lenovo because my warranty has expired, so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to do. Thanks in advance.

Solution
If their is nothing on the SSD I would try to reisntall windows 10. If you have access to another PC you can download the media creation tool and redownload windows 10 install. Just make sure you install the version that you had before (Home Premium or Pro).

If their is data on there then we need to either find a way to pull it off or repair windows.
