Hello! so I'm going to replace my GTX 650 ti boost to a GTX 970 I need some help though..I know the GTX 970 (Gigabyte edition) is better than the Palit's one not a big difference but because I have a Corsair VS 550 PSU.. and the Palit uses 500W meanwhile the Gigabyte edition uses 600W
Will the 600W be overkill while using a 550W PSU?
Thanks in advance! :)

What do you mean overkill? If your maximum watt usage is higher than what the PSU can provide, well it depends.

If it's a good PSU: The PSU will like "stop" or "cut down" and the PC will close or "power down" or something, with no damage? I think
While a bad PSU will....well, it will be bad and may or may not take other parts of the PC with it

Here, use this calculator to calculate how much wattage you're going to use, I wouldn't trust it too much though even if it's trusted by mostly everyone.

If you want to be on the safe side, get a 600/600+ watt PSU of GOOD QUALITY, not that I'm saying VS is bad or anything
