Hello,

So recently after changing my laptop's setting back to 'Original Factory Settings,' I have noticed a massive drop of In-Game FPS while playing on a known game called 'Minecraft'. This game used to run on my Laptop with maximum 400-500FPS nearly everywhere I am at in game on any built in Spawn etc... But at this current time, I am typing this, I can't be able to pass even 100 it is like I am stuck at 98 FPS without any change. I have tried going into settings and see what is going on, and I have noticed that in the 'Snooper Settings' it says something along the lines of maximum FPS is 60. I don't know anymore how to fix this although I have fixed it in the past now I don't know what to do but asking for help.

Side Note: I formatted my laptop for, I wanted just to start fresh again after downgrading from Windows 10 since that Operating System doesn't run well with Minecraft or either my laptop has issues and it isn't windows 10's fault.

PC Specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
GeForce GT 630M
6GB Ram
1TB Free Memory Space
HP CoolSense feature (So the laptop doesn't get hot and slow)

Minecraft is set on Above normal priority.

Regards,

Solution
Could be different settings, or another multitude of reasons, and minecraft is no way to judge it. If you want then download something like 3dmark's Firestrike, and Cinebench, and benchmark your pc. Then you can compare your results with computers like yours online and see whether there is an actual issue or not.

Why do I need more than 60FPS? Because it is noticeable that I am lagging with a small delay. My monitor is 60Hz, and that doesn't prove anything. The point of 500FPS is to have the game run more smooth if it isn't already, this PC has its performance, the specifications of this PC should run Minecraft on 400+FPS as that is how it should run if it doesn't then there is an issue.

Note: If you have a solution then please reply to me, otherwise I won't need your help since I want my FPS to go back just as good as it used to be. So please don't waste your time asking me helpless questions about why do I need more than 60FPS and so on. Thank you.

the only way you could notice lag is because the monitor is 144hz capable if its 60hz its impossible to see lag on it and its really useless to have more FPS than 144hz i think you prob is cuz that screen might be a 144hz one

Okay, so I am going to act wise and just go along with what you said even though it is just something that proves you haven't really read and understood what I am saying in my question (In need for help).

I didn't notice ANY FPS Lag/Issue with the game before formatting my PC. I don't care if my screen is 60Hz and so on... I don't care since this issue wasn't occurring before. I am trying to look and find a solution to my problem which didn't occur before format but not it does occur and it is blatantly noticeable.

Note: I think I am basically missing a setting or something but I still want to find a solution for it even if I am missing something.

I don't play minecraft so I don't remember the settings, but it sounds like your monitor is out of sync, which can cause lags and screen tearing. Try and look for Vsync, or Framerate in the minecraft settings. It would also help if we knew what laptop you are using (make and model, not the specs).

Oh sorry, this is actually a laptop... It is a HP Pavilion dv6. And Vsync is a bad setting that no one recommends as well. I have got my fps limit to unlimited.

"Vsync is a bad setting that no one recommends" Vsync is a technology that syncs your monitor with your GPU. Without it, your GPU simply puts out a new frame whenever it is ready regardless of the monitors ability to receive it. Vsync syncs the gpu's rate of putting frames out with the monitors refresh rate, resulting in a smooth and optimal experience. Vsync's downside is when the GPU cannot catch up and is producing a frame rate lower than the monitor's refresh rate, and then the monitor has to wait for the GPU to produce a frame, which creates a lag. However since your monitor is 60hz and you say you are producing 100+ fps, then vsync will be optimal for you, and your GPU will produce frames at exactly the monitor's refresh rate, thus avoiding various lags and screen tears.
If you don't want to even try anything that we suggest here that's up to you, but then we can't do anything to help you.

Are you getting what is my issue? I should be getting about 300+FPS but now I am getting 100FPS I think there is a big difference in those numbers...

I have tried all settings and yet nothing works, graphics card are updated so is everything else. FPS is so annoyingly low even if 60fps is perfect, it still can be obvious.

Again, that number means nothing. Try an actual benchmark to see if you have a performance issue. Minecraft is an indicator of nothing. And you should turn Vsync on, and you will magically see that it is silky smooth (unless you get placebo effect from looking at the fps counter).
So try an actual benchmark, and then we will know if you really have a problem.
