Hi,

First off when I say “SS” I mean Steel Series, not sure if the info is entirely relevant but the hardware is listed bellow and the software for them is up to date.

I was having issues with using my SS keyboard and SS mouse also some sound issues, after reading briefly it was suggested to update drivers, pretty standard. I used Driver Booster to update the suggested ones, I've used it several times without problem (updates listed bellow). This caused a blue screen to appear. The same as the image in this link https://communities.intel.com/thread/45865?start=0&tstart=0

After restarting I was given the option to start normally or safe, I chose safe mode but that again caused the blue screen to appear. Next start-up it gave me an option for the last good start-up. Now the computer started up fine however my USB 3.0 devices were no longer working (the keyboard + mouse (listed bellow). Luckily I have some old basic mice and keyboards to try and resolve these issues.

Now I thought the best thing to do would be to revert to a restore point, that worked fine and instead of installing all of the drivers at once I’d install the drivers one by one and see which ones were causing issue. I remember The Intel 7 Series updates were fine, as were the USB 2.0 ones but the Xeon processor caused the blue screen again. I had to go through the same processor of starting up as the first problem arose. I thought “I may have just singled this out” although I went to go to a restore point again but it wasn't there now.

I tried safe mode to see what I could do, funnily enough the SS Keyboard worked just fine, when I started up normally then it didn't.

**I apologise for how confusing this is**

I am at a loss, because my SS keyboard works fine in USB 2.0 but basically my front 3 USBs and the 2 3.0s at the back will not work. I went to device manager and the “Intel(R) USB 3.0 Root Hub” has an exclamation mark on it. I have tried updating it (the Root Hub) but it caused the device manager to freeze. I tried doing the same thing through the Devices and Printers panel, but when it gets to the USB 3.0 fix, it caused a blue screen once again.

I have hit a point were I'm unsure of the next step to take and afraid I might cause further harm, I have made a restore point just in case. Any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated, I've had issues with drivers and the SS devices not getting along but not to the extent my 3.0s don’t work and the front panel USBs.

Sorry for the length.
