My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-X58A-OC with 24gb memory and intel i7-990x, and so it doesn't have a PCIe 3.0 x 16.

I figured 384-bit at 3gb is better than the 192-bit at 2gb.

I mainly do editing using Premiere CS6. Nothing more.

Well, maybe, depends on what you are after. 3GB was an extra feature, most were 1.5GB. The lightning cooler is rather large, not sure if it was the best available. Has a mild overclock out of the box, but nothing crazy.

I had ASUS DCUII and those were triple slot cards. I never went crazy with them, but did push them to 900Mhz and they didn't seem to care that I had done it.

More about what you would be spending on them. I think I have seen 3GB cards hit about $100 on ebay. The 1.5GB rarely break past $75 or so.

I recently sold mine for about $60 a piece.
