Computer Won't Recognize My Graphics Card

I have read multiple threads on here with people who have the same problem. I have an MSI Radeon R9 380. I've disabled my onboard graphics and set the main GPU to the PCI express slot in my bios. I have installed all of the latest drivers for my card too. I've tried moving it to a different slot on my motherboard, and that still did nothing. I've also tried removing and re-installing all of the drivers for the card. I have no other tower at home to test it on though. Should I return the card? Or if anybody has a way to fix this I would love to hear it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Solution
Since your onboard GPU is working correctly, and the most up-to-date UEFI doesn't help, I'm thinking your card may be DOA or some kind of odd compatibility issue w/ your specific setup.

I'm not too fond with software-related issues, but I believe your onboard graphics may still be over-riding your external GPU
If the onboard graphics pre-installs drivers to your pc (I'm not sure about this), you will need to remove its drivers using a program (I'm a bit too lazy to find one online.. sorry) and the external GPU should take over with its drivers.
This is all just a guess, but it's probably your best bet. I'm no expert ;)

My motherboard is updated to the latest drivers. When I plug my GPU into my monitor I just get a no signal detected message. And I do have all of my wires plugged into the card. The lights come on, but the fans never come on because it never gets warm enough for them to (presumably because the card is not being used).
