If I run my OS on my HDD, and my games on an SSD will my gaming speed be limited to the HDD speed?

Will I experience a bottleneck anywhere?

Solution

For Steam games:
In the steam client-
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

Right, I guess what i am asking is whats the best way to go about installing everything if I have both? OS on SSD, and everything else on HDD?

Or just go with a large SSD?

Just so you know... Not all games will experience faster load times with an SSD. Newer games like Starcraft or Fallout 4 load at about the same speed as they did when I had them on a mechanical HDD. However, some of my OLDER games like Flatout seem to load a tiny bit faster.

Here his what you can do:
SSD
O/S, Browser, Media Players & Burners, Hardware Drivers, Office, Documents, Utilities

HDD
Downloads, Videos, Music, Photos, Installed Games, Misc. Programs, Backups

I just use the comp for P3D (flight sim) and addons. so I think a 256gb hdd for file storage, and a 256gb ssd for os and game should work fine. Worst case I go with a 512GB SSD, however with everything fully setup I am only at 266gb used with everything as it is on my crappy old hdd.
