So I'm upgrading my sandybridge i7 to a skylake i7, installing a new mobo/cpu/ram. I have my windows 10 on an SSD boot drive along with my drivers, all my games and everything else are on my 2 storage HDDs. Whats the best steps to take to keep as much data as I can after installing the new mobo. If I just reformat the boot drive will I be able to plug in my storage drives and everything will be good to go? Can someone walk me through the best way to do this? Thanks

It should be fine to just put the new drives back into your PC without having to format or anything just put the new mobo in and attach the drives to it. Using Steam you can search for games if it does not find the files straight away. Tho I would back them up just in case. For comparison I took my boot SSD out of my PC and put it into my laptop and it booted just as if it were my PC.

Hope this helps
