Considering GTX 970 - NOT a gamer but I work on video editing and animation - Should I buy?

As the title suggests. I usually don't play on the PC. For gaming I use my PS4.

But I work on video editing (Premiere), Animation and some programmatic CUDA work as well.

Given this, would it make sense to buy the 970? I currently have the 760.

If 970 is an overkill, I would buy a 960.

Suggestions please (or recommendations on other card)?

Thanks.

I don't think you'd see a huge difference over your 760, and certainly not really over a 960. In theory, they may be a bit faster, but in terms of rendering, I don't think you would notice anything. You'd need to add multi cards for rendering to really notice it.

if your future proofing wait and get a pascal or polorus gpu later this year or get a 390x because it has more vram for animateing
