I just ordered an i7 6700k@4ghZ, and for a cooler I have a coolermaster tx3 will this be enough to cool it, I will be gaming arma 3, gta 5, il2 sturmovik, world of tank etc thanks!

Solution

The 212 EVO and the H7 are both superior to the TX3, additionally they both cool to within a couple degrees of each other. The TX3 is good as a stock replacement and for minor OCing, the EVO and H7 are both good through about 4.6 on most Skylakes much the same as they were on Haswell. Have used a number of H7s and well over a 100 EVOs on builds

Provided you're getting the k version of the 6700k, you want to overclock that thing, as you can easily achieve 4.5ghz with not much voltage increase. At full load, that cooler will make the GPU hit the 80c+ mark, but it is unlikely that you will ever hit full load on games.
You should get a solid 75-80c gaming, but if you want cooler temps than that ( I would, as 80c is the threshold for uncomfortable temps for me), the Cryorig H7 is a great place to start, and the Deepcool Gamerstorm Assassin II is a better higher end CPU cooler that performs on similar levels to the
Noctua DH-15 without obscuring RAM slots or being as pricy.

Agreed, but given the fact he already has a similar cooler to the 212 evo he might be better off with something a bit stronger? You reckon the H7 or something a bit more powerful? o_O

I dont plan in OCing anytime soon tbh and was wondering if the cooler will be fine for now since I already have it, I have a 212 in my old broke down pc I plan on transfering that one to my new pc in the coming months.

I feel I should mention I also will have a 970 superclocked gpu since gpu temp was mentioned

If 70-80c temps don't bother you, you should be fine, however I would recommend upgrading to either the H7 or 212 Evo.
Both are great.
