I have ordered:
Since Skylake supports (only) dual-channel memory, I am going to buy 2x 4 GB chips.

The motherboard supports RAM speeds up to 3600 MHz.

All speeds apart from 3600 MHz (2133/2400/2800/3000/3200/3400 MHz) are very similarly priced.

Should I just go with the 3400 MHz RAM, or is there a specific reason to go with slower RAM?

Solution
Like Haswell, Skylake doesn't really benefit from faster DDR speeds. Particularly if your primary use is gaming. About the only thing you see an improvement in is synthetic benchmarks, and compression / decompression software, and gaming if you are using the IGP (but who uses that).
