(Please read all the steps i've taken.)
(I just bought this router and use to port forward with my old routers. )
I tried hooking up a laptop to the same wire i use and it worked perfectly i got to the router settings and my cell phone can hook up to it. But my desktop refuses access to the default gateway 192.168.1.1 or routerlogin.net so no router settings. I'm sorry about the list, i've looked everywhere and tried i THINK everything. :( I run windows 10.

I've tried:

turning it on and off again

Ipconfig or (ip config /release ipconfig /renew)

resetting my router 3 times.

IPV4 settings are on auto so is DNS

wired connection.

Yes, network adapters are updated and showing correctly.

My phone shows the latest firmware for the router.

Ping goes through to my router.

restarted computer.

changing cable positions.

Calling Netgear themselves. Advice was get a replacement....

Turning off firewall.

Google chrome, firefox, and desperately internet explorer

DHCP is yes

disconnecting modem and leaving only the router and i plugged in.

Solution
At the desktop's command prompt, please run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) and post the results.

Please do the same from a device on the second router.

Regarding the hosts file; here is a Microsoft link about the hosts file:

And another more descriptive source:

Unlikely that the hosts file is the problem but want you be aware of the file and what it does.

Also have you made any changes to the Windows firewall on the desktop?

Are the desktop's network and internet connections working and performing as expected?

And the problem is just access to the router's webpage access at 192.168.1.1 which is accessible through other devices.

Did you look at the hosts file on the desktop?
