What wattage PSU do I need - websites gave me different answers

I am planning to build the following system and need to figure out what wattage PSU I need.

i5 6600K
ASUS Maximum VIII Ranger
2*4GB 2666MHz DDR RAM
NZXT Kraken X41
MX200 500GB
2*GTX 970 (I plan to use one at first and when I have enough money to add a second card in SLI)
A DVD-RW optical drive

I checked out these two websites and got widely different answers. Hope someone can clear this up

http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator - said I need 552 W
http://images10.newegg.com/BizIntell/tool/psucalc/index.html - said I need 837W

500watts would be enough in a decent power supply. I would recommend 600watts if you can afford it however, I always like to have some extra headroom if I can.

EDIT: Sorry I was thinking one card for some reason. I agree with others below, I would want around 750watts for two 970s in sli.

837 sounds about right for the SLI build.

however, if you sent going to SLI now, you probky won't SLI at all

I reccomend a good 750w psu for overclocking with headroom left. But you can use less Mousemonkey runs 2 970s on a HX620.

This is SLI guys, not one 970. I'd say 750W quality unit or higher. 500W and 600W are insufficient for an OC 970 system under stress.

The CX series is not good enough quality and should not be used in a gaming system, especially an overclocking rig with SLI. The Sentey is even worse quality and could damage other components in the system when it inevitability fails.
