Having HDD problems need help.
OK SO I've had this HDD for about 9 months and today When I go to turn my computer on EFI Shell appears. I can access my bios but can only boot in EFI Shell.

My HDD which is a Western Digital 1TB is not being recognized and I can't start Windows. It doesn't make ANY sounds of any sort but my motherboard (MSI Z97 PC MATE) makes a a faint "Beep beep beee.." And the last one continues as long as my PC is on. It is VERY faint and can only just be heard above my fans. Also the Motherboard said all of its SATA ports are empty.

The beeps only occur when my HDD has power so I know my motherboard recognizes it in some way.

As I said before this happened very suddenly. There wasnt signs of it slowing down at all recently and it isn't making and screeches or clicks.

Any help would be appreciated and if need I can make a video of the sound.

Welcome to the community, Travon!

This definitely sounds concerning! :( I'd advise you to check how the HDD is recognized in another computer and doing a sound recording would be pretty helpful. Unfortunately, if it's truly coming from the WD drive, then it's most probably a hardware/physical issue. This, unfortunately, is not something you can fix by yourself.
I'd advise you to turn to one of our Data Recovery Partners worldwide for assistance, if you have any important data on the HDD that is not backed up.

Your WD drive is relatively new, so it might still be covered by the warranty. If it is, then you should definitely get in touch with our Customer Support and send your RMA request.

Good luck! Keep us posted!
