Well I've been playing games lately, a lot more often and I wanted to play some old Nintendo games. My current CPU can't handle Nintendo games so I want to upgrade, but not that reason alone. PC can't multitask anymore without a lot of waiting now.

Anyone recommend me a CPU (intel preferably)? Thanks. Oh I'm going to buy a new motherboard (don't know but just add that too if you can:D )

thanks much love <3

The Intel i5 is the best gaming/cost solution at this point. You could easily go last generation (hasswell) and save some bucks. Also the 8 gigs should be enough for quite some time, so you won't need to buy new memory if you go with the hasswell.

We need more information like budget.

A good place to start is the intel I3. If your gaming needs are only Nintendo emulators and by multitasking you mean web and music player or something similar even lower cpus could work. Like the G3258.

Without budget we can't help more than this.

Okay sorry!

Uhm I'm willing to spend up to £250 on it. Nah I play more intense games then Nintendo but the CPU just can't handle some games. At the moment this is my CPU and motherboard, I just need to find a new CPU then I'll find a compiatable motherboard.

Current:
CPU = AMD Athlon 860K
Motherboard = ASRock FM2

8gb ddr3 ram
ASRock FM2A58M-VG3+ R2.0 - motherboard

I just want to play high performance games which I can however it's just when its games which are more CPU intense is when its crazy. The whole game will slow down and the sound too, I would go check the task bar and see the game is on 80%
