I meant that, unless you are specifically trying to hide your mail from someone with a) access to your mail company's servers, or b) ability to snoop on the internet at large (governments are an example), PGP is overkill.
For PGP to encrypt your email requires that the recipient also has PGP software and you know their public key. This is pretty rare. If they don't, you can 'sign' the message - this verifies it's from you (if they check), but doesn't stop anyone reading it.
