Is my overclock safe?

Hello, I overclocked my 980ti SC+ ACX 2.0 100 on the Core Clock. That brings it to 1429 while I was playing GTA V. I know this because I have Precision X on screen display. Also, I did not touch the memory, its still at a little over 3500mHz. Also, my temps are around 60 degrees max while playing this game. I played for about an hour and ran smooth. Is this safe? And by safe I mean I don't know how to test the temperature of the vram memory. I don't want the memory to overheat, but I do know my GPU temp is recorded at 58-60 degrees while playing at 1429 core clock, 3500 memory . I also increased power limit up to 110 and temp max to 91 but it hasnt got near any of those. Thank you.

I would be happy with those temps. Have you adjusted voltage? if not then it is probably safe. No OC is 100% cast iron guarantee safe. It's just a calculated risk, and no additional voltage is a safe place to be.

Hmmm, from what I have been taught you should always stress test the system and make sure it stable for a least half a day, if not more. If your GPU is running stably after that, and there is sufficient cooling available you should be fine. Just note that going too high and staying at higher temperatures could degrade performance slightly. 60 degrees seems safe in my eyes

They should be able to withstand temperatures of 70. Obviously depends on the manufacturer but having a high end graphics card like yours, the vram would be high end and be able to survive a lot of heat.

From the nvidia page it states the stock 980ti max temperature is 92, so your vram will be fine, just when you get up to 80-90 degrees the life of the vram etc could degrade

From what Nvidia stated (The gpu max temperature) is most likely the uppermost safe temperature. You wouldnt even want to go there. The vram will be able to survive to 92 but hotter than that and I wouldnt know what will happen to it - I am guessing serious performance degradation
