Hey all! I'm in the process of building a new rig. And since my last build turned out so amazing Thanks to the members of this forum, I thought I'd once again reach out. The main uses will be VR gaming and 3d modeling. I have purchased everything but the cpu cooler. I'm still not sure if I want to go with air or AIO. I'm worried about leaks but willing to risk it for the best possible cooling solution. My budget is $200 but the less I have to spend the better. Any advice is greatly appreciated. As well as any input on anything I could/should do differently. So here is what I have so far and thank you in advance.

CPU:
Intel i7 6700K

MOTHERBOARD:
Asus Maximus VIII Hero

MEMORY:
Viper Elite Series DDR4 32GB 2X16 2400MHz

STORAGE:
WD Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200rpm
Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 250gb

GPU:
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Gaming 4gb

PSU:
Corsair RM850 80+Gold

CASE:
CM Storm Stryker ATX Full Tower

If you are worried about leaks, which I completely understand, your best bet is to go with the Noctua DH-15. It is arguably the best air cooler on the market right now. The only problem I have with it is the color of the fans, but you can paint those.

Thank you both so much. You both named the ones I was considering. I really like the noctua dh-15.... Super eyesore though lol. But I'd rather have performance over beauty. Everyone seems to think water is the way to go but as i understand it The dh-15 is comparable to mid range water coolers. Would you agree with this?

And djreedj. ... Yes I play ESO although I'll admit I've neglected playing it lately add I'm wrapped up in Fallout 4 right now.
And I love the GPU you posted. It's on my wishlist. I had to compromise right now but in the future I'd love to try it out.

All good options. If you want a cheaper cooler than get the Cryorig H7 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UF2DZ6565&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
Otherwise choose one of the above.

Everything looks good on your build so far but I ended up getting the GSkill 4 X 8GGB DDR4 2400. I bought the Cryorig H5 which is preforming great on my 6600K. I was going to water cool with a loop cooler but with the new lower TDP's on these Skylake chips I see really no reason to go that route unless you were going to try over clocking the CPU by more than 20%. So if your worried by using water cooling just stay with air. Oh some advice on the Asus Maximus VIII Hero on your first boot put in only 1 stick of ram, GPU, and CPU. Absolutely no drives hooked up. Get into bios and flash it with the EZ flash with the newest version on a flash drive. after that is done get back into bios and make sure you turn on the M.2 for NVMe so it will be recognized when you put it in. After this is done shut it down, put in M.2 drive, rest of the ram, and install Windows 10.

Thank you everyone. There are some really great suggestions here .I have a lot to think about. At least now I feel much better about sticking with an air cooler. I really appreciate all the great feedback. This is why I love this forum.
