GTX 760 SLI or single GTX 970

Hey

At the moment I have 2x760 running SLI and that have been great for a long time. But don't think that the SLI optimizing on the last new games has been so good. (even dota 2 runs bad after some update)

So my though is to upgrade... But can't seem to figure out if it is worth the money?

I have this card in mind ASUS GeForce GTX 970 TurboOC - 4GB + it comes with 2 games.

I have the "MSI gtx760 2GB version"

will I see any difference in performance? I understand that some of the SLI problems will be gone. but for 80% of the games they run SLI pretty good.

You'll see a jump in performance, likely, as 2x SLI doesn't grant 100% extra performance, but a 970 actually doubles a 760 in many games. That said, I'd wait for the Polaris / Pascal gen, as they're supposed to be released soon and also come with a higher performance jump.

Oh okay I see. When will they release it? And I bet the price for 1 of that cards will be high. :S the 970 I have found cost around 360$

Wellm Pascal was said to be expected sooner than they initially said, as the 900 series is not performing good with DirectX12. I think i've read it be soemtime about June. Polaris will came later I think, but I cannot provide a date I'm afraid. If you need a performance jump right now, you could get a 2nd hand R9 290. I got one and it performs quite good (55+ solid FPS with TW3 ultra settings except some postprocesating filters).

The 760 is a good card though, so it's up to you in the end : )
