The right memory for I7 920 OC'd

Hi,

I have an ASUS P6T SE with a Core I7 920 2.67ghz. My objective is running a very demanding piece of software called Davinci Resolve and, since I'm not sure my CPU will become the bottleneck, I will try to OC it first to 3.6 ghz and evaluate how that goes...

I have two questions:

1 - I want to get 24gb RAM in there (6x4gb) and I'm not sure which RAM I should go for (do all sticks manage the overclock that I want to do?)

2 - Are these I7 processors able to cope with this kind of overclock? I'm asking this because I can't risk getting sudden weird errors while editing my video footage.

Thanks!

Look for a full set of DRAM, don't get multiple packages, no guarantees they will play when mixing packages, even if the same exact model. Also ensure that the DRAM is compatible to the X58 chipset, most all DRAM these days is made with high density memory chips which are often problematic on the 1366 mobos

For overclocking, better to go with same brand / identical modules. For overclocking go for higher speed memory.
Yes, the i7 processors can handle the over-clock, because the motherboard supports overclocking feature up to DDR3 2000 MHz.

Manufacturer's specs:

You can refer this link for 1600 MHz memory, maybe higher speeds are available:

Thanks for your help.

@Tradesman1 - Is there a way to know they come from the same package? I was thinking of getting the Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3-1866MHz, which I can get in packs of 2... I can't find them in packs of 6 (at least, not in any store in my country). I believe this is compatible with X58m right?
