First off my apoligies if this is not the right subforum to post this question.

Hello everyone,

I’m in a bit of a pickle here. Lately I had to go to allot of places and I took my pc with me. I also had a screen with me and a DVI cable to connect it to my system, this all went fine till the point I returned home.

When I put the cable in it works for the first few minutes. Than for some reason my entire screens become pixelated and it gives me the message: “Amd screen driver stopped working”. After that it takes a couple more of those and I get a blue screen.
I have never seen a problem like this before and I’m not sure what to do about it. I’m not even sure if the problem is directly in the graphics card.

Things I tried:
- Placing the graphics card in another PCI slot.
- Checking if all cables are properly connected.
- Using speed fan to see if both fans of the graphics card still work (which they do)

AMD Radeon R9 200 / HD 7900 Series
Intel(R) Core™ i7 CPU 950 @3.07 GHz
If more information is required please let me know.

Greetings,
Mopperkontje

Tried it, didnt work for me.

Things I additionaly tried after reading other forums:
- Putting windows 7 in basic theme.
- Checking if RAM was properly put in.

Both also failed to fix my problem.

I also read that: This problem has occured to other people more often and some say that when it happens your graphics card is dying and has "bad" memory and will be fully dead within a month. Anyone know if this is true, if this is 100% the graphics card I will just get myself a new one.

Unfortuantly at the moment my second graphics card is 400KM's away and cant test if it actually is the case. Any suggestions or ideas anyone? Just let me know if you guys also think it is the graphics card and not something else.

Just made an order for a new videocard (a gtx 970 nvidea gaming). I will post the update as soon as it arrives. If this was indeed the case.

Also tried:
- Full system recovery.
- Under and overclocking.
- Replacing the ram with different ram.

As soon as I know if replacing the graphics card works or not. I will re-edit the first post and summarize what I did.
