Hi I was going on to cyberpower pc today to look at my computer to buy. I was just gonna spend an extra 40$ to get my i5 6600k overclocked to 4.00ghz from 3.5ghz. But then i saw it was a free upgrade to a gtx 980. What should I do i5 6600k overcooked with a r9 390x or a stock i5 with a gtx 980

btw don't tell me to overclock or build my own computer because it will never happen. Also if i do pick the stock i5 will it be be able to handle and keep up with the 980 and run the computer fast?
Lastly my psu is a 750 watt thermalake tough power is this good enough for my computer with 16 gb ram.

The i5 will be totally fine with that card and the overclock certainly is not needed unless you do lots of media editing, game wise you'd be lucky to get an extra 1-5 frames more while gaming which isn't worth the £50 overclocking price tag.

Just go stock i5 with GTX 980.

Regards
hold off on buying your pc. there selling the older 980 and 390 cheep now as the newer gpu are dropping soon that are going to be a lot faster then the older gpu. look online for pascal and Polaris gpu. if your going to game get the overclocked i5 or save for an i7 cpu.

The R9 390 beats the GTX 980 in DirectX12 games, never mind the 390X. Combined with the fact that it has twice the amount of memory AND the memory interface and bandwidth are much faster, the R9 390X is much more future proof as well. You won't be CPU bound with either processor. Your power supply sounds more than sufficient.
