So here's what I'm trying to get working:

Rosewill Blackhawk Case
Intel Core i7-5930K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W BX80648I75930K Desktop Processor
GIGABYTE GA-X99P-SLI (rev. 1.0) LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
G.SKILL 32GB (2 x 16GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz
3 x EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB SC+ GAMING ACX 2.0+ SLI
Samsung 950 PRO -Series 512GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD 2-Inch MZ-V5P512BW
EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2 80+ PLATINUM, 1200W ECO Mode Fully Modular Power Supply

When I put the third card in ANY slot, I get 8 beeps and it sits on the BIOS screen frozen. I have the correct sli bridge for the x99 setup but not getting any love. The third card doesn't want to fit in the proper slot unless I remove all the case connections from the front panel slot on the mobo.

Any advice? Is anyone successfully using 3-way sli with a different x99 motherboard and getting x16,x16,x8?

Solution
You must use slots 1,2 , & 3 along with bridge gc-3sli-x99, and motherbd connector ATX4P (just below pcie slot 3) must have power from the PSU - according to your manual.

Definitely tried that. I managed to get the card plugged in to the 1,2,3 ports but had to unplug everything from the front panel pins. Still getting the 8 beeps.
