I hope to put together my first build next weekend. I didn't realize until after I received it that my bluray burner didn't come with software. I'd appreciate some suggestions as to which free or paid software would be a good choice. (I'm open to software that could also be used for general video editing in addition to operating the burner.)

I plan to burn an occasional bluray from my Sony HD video recorder, perhaps more than occasionally as my family grows.

Thanks in advance for your help!

back in the day i used to use nero software. allowed for menu creation and all the other nice features of a dvd. it has gotten bloated over the years but overall last time i used it, i could still do what i wanted to do with it.

it has been a few years but if i was to get back inot it, i would look there first for myself. http://www.nero.com/enu/

i don't know of any free software that does everything including editing and menu creation but it may exists and i never ran across it

edit: lots of options now from there i guess. here is only importing and disk creation http://www.nero.com/enu/products/nero-video/
