I have an old system which I believe is decent powerful for gaming.

I want to add a Nvidia Gtx 960 2GB DDR5 graphics card for gaming.

My biggest concern is, if 8gb of DDR2 ram at 800Mhz or Core 2 Quad cpu at 2.5 Ghz or old version 1.1 of PCIe x16 will bottleneck or not work with Nvidia Gtx 960.

I am not an extreme gamer, I would like to play latest titles but at decent settings and 1680x1050 resolution and am ok with frame rates over 30 fps.

If above configuration is not feasible, please suggest alternative graphics cards I can use.

Below are My PC specifications

Prcoessor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.5Ghz
Ram: 4gb DDr2 800Mhz(planning to increase to 8gb by adding 4gb of similar ram)
Mobo: Asus P5 Ev HDMI, Intel G35 chipset, LG775 socket. PCie x16 v 1.1
Power Supply: Stock, but willing to upgrade to good one that supports Nvidia GTX960 like Corsair 550Watts etc.
Display: Viewsonic 1680x1050 resolution.

Solution
It should be do-able if the older legacy BIOS of your M/B recognizes the newer UEFI BIOS of the GTX 960. But the GTX 960 is a bit much for that CPU. There will be some CPU bottleneck in some games.
