Hi, I brought a G Skill Ripjaws 1600 4GBx2 kit model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL and when I installed it the computer won't boot to bios. I tried it with both sticks and a single stick with the same results.

The computer I'm trying to install it in is a e8400 on a MSI g41m-p26 motherboard. The old ram is actually the same model as the new kit, a G Skill Ripjaws 1600 4GBx2 kit F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL but I'm only using a single 4GB stick as I don't have access to the other module that came with the old kit. Also I don't know if it will make a difference but the old ram was manufactured in Nov 2012 while the new set is Nov 2015.

I have tried resetting the cmos and upgrading the bios to the latest firmware with the same results. Does anyone know why the computer won't boot with the new ram? Thank you.

Solution
With the new being made in 2015, I'd guess it is using the newer high density memory chips which aren't compatible with the older 775 mobos
