Right now I have a Verizon Gateway in my house but it doesn't reach very far so I bought a Wireless Access Point from Amped Wireless (RE1750A or AC1750). The WAP creates an extended network so instead of the SSID/Network being "Wifi1" it would be "Extended Wifi1 5.0", it creates a new extended/ (sub?) network. I was wondering if it would be possible to make it work off of one network instead of two (Original and Extended) because in some spots the Original is better than the Extended and vice versa. I've heard about dual Router networks before so I was wondering if I would be able to set it up as a WAP and Router setup under one network instead of two. Thanks I'm a Networking Noob

Yes, you can use multiple routers configured as access points attached to your Verizon gateway with an LAN to LAN cable connection. Then just disable DHCP on all the access point routers and give them a static address that is in the Verizon gateway network range but outside the Verizon DHCP assignment range so that another device is not given the same address.

You can use either the same or different SSID, I usually suggest different so you can specifically select which you want to use. You can also use the same passkey or different, I usually use the same.

For the 2.4GHz radio, if you use it on both, insure that they are on different non-overlapping channels (selecting from 1, 6, and 11).
