I understand that high end graphics cards, by default, won't turn on their fan until they need to. However, my graphics card will wait until its 90c (and I can smell it burning) before the fans go from 0% to 100%, run for about 10 seconds until the temperature is below 90c, then repeat after reaching 90c again in less than a minute. The only thing I can do now is use Open Hardware Monitor to manually set the fans at 50% or so.

I've tried researching this on my own and I've read about the Evga Precision x16, but the UI is terrible and I can't seem do anything with it. I've tired searching for a tutorial on Evga Precision x16, but everything I come across only shows off its features rather than showing me how to use them.

What I really want is for the fans on the gpu to start sooner and at a lower speed. For example, I want the fans to run at 20% when it its 40c, then 50% at 60c, and 100% at 80c, etc.

Do any computer wizards out there know a better program I could use, or perhaps give me a detailed tutorial for the Evga Precision x16.
