So, I have been away from needing a bios update for a very long time, and my last board would do it from the Bios. I have the F2 version, and need to update. Any advice on making this easy on me?

go ahead and download the version f4, maybe f5 or f6 look at what they say about them. Just dont get f8 or whichever one says it cant be flashed to earlier bios. Bascially all you do is format your usb drive to fat32, put the bios version on it, and load the pc into q-flash and update that way.

I recently broke my gigabyte ga z97 hd3 by updating to F9. F8 does not let you flash back to previious versions if something goes wrong with the update. I would only update if you HAVE to. And even then, dont go to f8. I have to RMA my motherboard and bought a new one because it wouldnt let me load windows after the update. Take it from me. Before I log off. DO NOT. UPDATE. Unless you have to.

but if you MUST do it. I would find all information online about it and research. Bottom line. You can download the version of bios you want from gigabyte.com put it onto a flash drive, make sure you format the drive fat32. Then go into the bios>q-flash and update the bios version you downloaded onto the usb drive. Make sure power wont go out, wont take but 10 min or so to update.
