Hello, first time posting here and I need your help, please!

I recently bought a Sapphire Nitro R9 380X, it is intended to replace an Asus HD 7700 1gb.
In order to install the new gpu I removed the drivers and turned off the machine (obviously), I installed the thing and the system didn't started, the fans were running, the mobo didn't make any beeps or weird noises but I noticed that the fans on the gpu started to spin only to stop after a short time and started to spin again, I shut down everything removed the R9 and installed back the HD and the computer wouldn't recognized the monitor (Samsung using a HDMI connection), luckily I have a VGA monitor and using a DVI-I to VGA adapter I manage to run the system again and everything is working normally, so, could this be an under powered GPU symptom? Or I just bought a very expensive paper weight?, did I just damage the GPU?, I didn't power the thing for more than a minute trying to get a signal. I can't test the GPU on another computer so Im really hopping the thing just needs a more powerful PSU.

Here are my specs:

CPU: AMD FX-6350 Black Edition
Mobo: M5A97 R2.0
Ram: Kingston Hyper X Blue (x2) 4.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3
HDD: 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-00RKKA0
Drive: Pioneer BD-RW BDR-209D
PSU: Corsair CX 600 M
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

Please help me solve this thing. Thank you.

You don't need to uninstall the drivers since you were going from an AMD card to another AMD card. Did you have all power in the video card?

Do a BIOS update on the motherboard, you can test the card in another system that can run it, and as above, the CX power supply is mid-range or worse for a gaming system. Power supply may be an issue for you.

The fans on the Sapphire R9 380X dont start to spin until it reaches a certain temperature. So the fans spinning like that is normal.

Have you got Radeon Settings installed and the latest driver? When I got my one it only worked through vga until the drivers were installed.
