Windows 7 takes a long time for checking updates.

I performed a fresh install of Windows 7 and installed the motherboard and video card drivers and when I check for updates it takes a long time. I've been waiting for an half hour and I need a quick response. Thanks

Is been going on for weeks now. The gist is Microsoft's fault and there is nothing you can do. Start you update before you go to bed and let it do its thing overnight.

this is normal, sometimes it takes several hours.
