Printer connected but not printing

My printer is a Cannon iP1800, and it shows up in the devices and printers menu but when I go to print the device is not listed. I am running windows 10 and it worked a few days ago but now it does not. Please help.

Uninstall the printer from Windows, then let Windows re-install it via Windows Update.
(make sure you leave printer connected and turned on so it's detectable by Windows Update).
