Hi, I'm terribly sorry if I have placed this in the wrong forum. I am going to be selling my computer to an acquaintance since I'm hardly home due to work. I love this computer, but I'm going to opt for a gaming laptop eventually, anyhow, I just wanted to know what you guys would quote this computer at. Thanks in advance!

CPU: Intel i5 3570k @ 3.4 GHZ
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4 GB OC Edition ( <3 )
Ram: 8 GB Crucial Ballistic
HDD: Western Digital 1TB Blue Caviar
PSU: Corsair CX700
Case: Fractal Design (Forgot model name, I got it for $50-$60 on sale)
MOBO: Asus P8Z77-V LK

I just want to know a ball park of what you guys would ask, I haven't stayed up to date on the new tech so I don't know if this computer is bad now. He said its an ok build and wants to pay $600? I feel that's unjust since I payed $370 w/tax when the GTX 970 came out. Thank you so much!

He wants to give you $600? I would take it and run.

Used computer stuff depreciates like crazy. You can get a GTX970 right now for $300-$325 new, and yours is used. The rest of it is over a generation old and nothing special. $600 is more than fair.

Generally I would say around 40% of what you put into it, assuming you're talking quality components & it's not obsolete tech.

Looking at your components, I would suspect you're in it for around $1,100 new. So reasonable to assume $450ish based on my 40% recommendation....

Then.....
Realize that HDDs are pretty much worthless secondhand, they're so cheap new.
Add to the fact that your PSU is essentially worthless, even if it were new.

You do still have a viable CPU/Motherboard/RAM/GPU setup though.

Considering all these factors, I would've suggested you ask right around Wolfshadw's suggestion ~$550, but would've also recommended you jump at the first $450+ offer you received......... I'd honestly say you;'re pretty lucky if you get $600 out of it.
