Hi, I'm wondering if I should upgrade or just rebuild my PC. Thank you!

Case: Cooler Master Storm Trooper Full Tower Gaming Case w/ 200mm Fan
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50 GHz 8MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1155
HDD: 2TB (I don't have a ssd yet though I do want one!)
Memory: 8GB
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H Intel Z77
Graphics Card: GTX 760

Approximate Purchase Date: July of 2012, so it's getting old.

Budget Range: My budget would be between $1,000 and $1,300

System Usage from Most to Least Important: this is my main gaming PC in which I use every single day.

Are you buying a monitor: No, I have two monitors that work perfect.

Parts to Upgrade: CPU? RAM? Case? Graphics card? Unknown if I should of which parts I should.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes, if I have to get a new PC it would be nice to do a good refresh.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: any work for me.

Location: Weston, Florida, USA

Parts Preferences: No preferences

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, I have no idea.

Your Monitor Resolution:1920x1080 duel monitor.

Additional Comments: preferred if it is quiet and has nice lights.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My case is massive and takes up tons of space, my rig is getting slowe, and slower it feels everytime I play a new game.

Thank you for your help.

There is nothing wrong with your processor and motherboard. A new one will only be slightly faster
Eventually you will need 16Gb of memory, but probably not yet.
An SSD will be an enormous improvement to boot up time, windows update speed and program loading - definitely get one ASAP, will make your computer feel like new.
If your FPS is suffering, get a better GPU. If you can wait another few months, get a Pascal GPU in the autumn.

NB, you don't need a huge case, a normal sized $40 one with a couple of 120mm case fans should keep your components cool enough.

¨Hello,

I would buy 8 GB more RAM, for more multitasking capability, because your CPU is built for this purpose. Make sure timings, latency, and voltage match your current stick.

I would buy an SSD, a Samsung 840 or 850 EVO, 120 or 250 GB, and have my OS and programs on that (games are pretty large though). I would use Samsung's cloning software, it's very reliable and easy to use!

I would overclock the CPU, in case of VRM overheating, I would then put a fan which blows right on the VRM.

I would upgrade the graphics card to a good mid end up to date card. I would buy either a GTX 970, or a R9 390, or R9 390x depending on which is cheapest. Your power supply plays a part here, so depending on which you currently use, you may want to upgrade that as well!

I would upgrade my monitor to a 144 Hz gaming monitor if that's a priority.

All the best! :)

Thank you both for your fast answers, it means a lot. It seems I might just buy a SSD and wait it out. Might upgrade my graphics card down the road and will defiantly upgrade my ram. Thank you again, any suggestions on which graphics card I should go for? And for the case, any good cases you would recommend for me to downgrade to? Might be a bit hard for me to switch out the cases but I think it's possible to do. Thank you again!

A solid gamer GPU is a GTX970. However, a 760 is still pretty good. I would wait a few months for the next generation to come out..
When buying a case, I look on Amazon in the $40-$50 price range, for a case with good customer reviews, then check the dimensions. Some people talk a lot about airflow, but I have a 3570k in a normal PC case with 5 HDD, a DVD and a large GPU, and have no overheating issues.
