Here gigabyte gtx 960 available at 240 us dollars or used saphire r9 280x at 185 us dollars so which is better for me or more better in future support??

Solution
The 280x still beats the 960 in a fair few titles.
At $55 less absolutely the better buy, at a closer price I would take the 960 without a doubt but that is a big big difference.

Are you actually in the us ??

The 380x is around $220 & is a better buy than both IMO.

I'd say go for the 280x or an 80s series on AMD's side. benchmarks using DX12 seem to favor AMD cards. Nvidea cards tend to suffer a performance hit when they move onto the next architecture, the old kepler cards suffered heavily when Nvidea moved to Maxwell.

update: I looked into it and it looks like Nvidia released a patch to fix the issues on kepler, though I would still go for the 280x unless your power supplly can't handle it.

I think it comes down to price at the end of the day really.
If in the us (I don't think the op is though) a used 280x at $185 is not really a good price when a 4gb 380 is the same price point & a 4gb 380x is in between the two.

The 960 is an impressive card for what it is , & that's mainly the efficiency & temps more than anything else.
Its not particularly good value or the best performer at the end of the day but you can run it on a 400w PSU & in a subpar case with subpar cooling & it will still perform fine.
You can't get away with that with any amd *80 series card full stop, even though they're generally better value & better performing.

^ for that reason alone I'm going to assume you're provably running a budget corsair or antec PSU & likely have a budget case (I apologise if I'm wrong but Im aware of the ultra-expensive prices you guys have to put up with & the corsair vs /antec VP/bp are generally staple pc components over there because they're the only really affordable ones)

If I am even close to being right though , & also with regard to your incredibly high ambient temps in summer I would be inclined to push you towards the 960 as the card to purchase.
