What will happen if I use a PCI E 3.0 card on PCI E 1.0 slot?

I am going to buy a GTX 750 TI but my motherboard is G31TM-P21. I am using a Core2Duo E7500. I am going to play games at 1366*768 at atleast medium settings. RAM is 4 GB.

It will 99% of time simply work.
The biggest difference between PCI-E 3.0 and 1.0 is bandwidth the slot can provide. For your card/resolution, I don't think it will have any meaningful impact.
