I need a somewhat cheap CPU (cheap including monthly electricity bill i guess), to pair up with GTX 960 4gb. I have no idea what to choose, and almost 0 knowledge of CPU's. Don't want bottlenecking my card. Aiming for somewhat future proof PC. Been thinking about these two.

If you ran the pc full bore for a week straight the i3 would save you about $1 (at 15cent/kilowatt)
{40w saving x 24hrsx7days/1000 to convert to kilowatts x your electric rate}

point is; its not worth worrying about this saving; you wont be on the pc enough IMO.

For future proofing, you have select two upgradable but dead end systems. I would suggest a build using the i3-6100 and the new socket 1151 motherbds.
