Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI Mini ITX FM2+ Motherboard ($102.49 @ Amazon)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury White 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($37.38 @ Amazon)

The goal is to watch online content (youtube, netflix, etc) and also already downloaded HD movies and stuff (1080 ideally).

Thank you in advance for your comments and advice!!

Solution
It will definitely work, but you may get better performance, upgrade potential and lower energy use with an Intel build.
