Need to clone a PCIe gen3 x4 SSD to another, is there a reader/adapter or alternate cloning method?

Hi all,

I recently had a laptop replaced that has a Samsung PM951 SSD drive that is PCIe gen 3 x4.

Of course the replacement laptop has the same drive, so to save time, I just transferred the old drive to the new laptop.

However, it seems the issues that caused me to initiate the laptop replacement (BSODs on Win10!), followed.

So, now I want to try cloning the old drive to the new.

I figured the way I could do this was perhaps find an adapter or enclosure that would convert to USB and with one drive installed internally, I could clone my drive and be working with the new drive with the original data.

Does anyone know of a PCIe gen3 x4 to USB adapter or have any suggestions of how else I can accomplish the drive clone?

I've tried searching around for a PCIe gen3 x4 adapter/enclosure/reader of some sort, but have not been able to find anything so far on my second round of trying.

Well first off i would ask what kind of BSOD's it is having? it could be an issue with windows and NOT with the SSD.

Otherwise if you have a USB drive you can use Macrium Reflect, install it, make the Rescue DVD/USB Drive, boot off of that, make an image and save it to the USB drive, then turn off, put in new drive, boot back into macrium, and restore the image.

Does the laptop have a hard drive too or do you have an external hard drive? You could do an image file of the SSD and then restore it in the new one instead of directly cloning them (which requires both of them to be connected at the same time).
