Would installing 4 stick of identical memory work in a dual channel board?

So I have a Z170-A motherboard. It supports dual channel memory up to 64 GB. I was thinking to install 8 more GB in dual channel as I already have 4gbx2 so I would have 16 GB in total and will populate each slot. I was wondering would it work and would each 2 sticks run in dual channel.

Solution
If the slot configuration is correct and all the DIMMs are working correctly, it should. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much point in having motherboards with four slots.

Depending on your luck, you may need to tweak memory timings and possibly voltages to make it stable though.

Im sure it would work. I'd think the memory controllers today are up for the job.
