Hello,

So my laptop which is an HP Pavilion 17-e118dx which supports up to 8GB DDR3L SDRAM (1 DIMM). I am looking at getting some 2X4GB Corsair Vengeance Performance 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) RAM but I am unsure if it will work for my laptop since it advertises Intel i5 and Intel i7 processors and my laptops processor is an AMD A10.

Thanks!

For an HP system like that I would stick with lower performance RAM. In cases like that laptop, higher end does not mean better to use, and is actually worse to use in cases. Look at what RAM is in there now, try to match it, if not in brand and model at least in same speed.

I pulled the RAM stick out and looked what specs it was. I ended up going with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820191523
