Need a good recommendation for Air Cooler. Budget is of no concern. Want solid performance.
Was looking at the "Be quiet Dark Rock 3" but am not crazy about the fan mounts, and given the choice would opt for LED fans if possible.

Any suggestions?

Solution
I've had a AiO leak. Cooler Master Eisberg 240L. The seam on the pump / cooling plate started to pull apart over time with the force of the retention mechanism. Got coolant on my motherboard and graphics card. I was luck though, I was able to salvage everything after cleaning it up well and using compressed air to get it out. The coolant is difficult to clean, it doesn't evaporate at room temperature. Cooler Master would have replaced any damaged components if after they were sent to them it was determined that the failure of those parts was a direct result of damage due to a coolant leak. Fortunately it didn't have to come to that.

Long story short, AiO's can leak, it's not common, but I'm proof that it does happen.

If...

I only use the middle fan on mine. It cost me about 3 degrees. I re-purposed the other fan as a case exhaust. The U14s cools about the same as a single fan D15.

The Cryorig R1 Ultimate looks nice. No LED's but you can customize the fan colors:

Cooler Master has the funky V series and Air Maker 8 with LED's, but I don't know much about them.

IN terms of best high end air coolers id have to give my top 3. the Cryorig r1 Ultimate, the Be quite Dark rock pro 3 and the Noctua NH-D15( It is known to interfere with Ram unless you have low profile sticks) but if budget isn't of concern id recommend looking into Aio liquid cooling. Itll give better performance then high end air coolers an also be quite, not to mention it wont interfere with your ram, along with you being able to change the fans on them for some customization. I personally like an use the Corsair H115i, it also has a bit of RGB LEDS on it if that of any interest. the Kraken x61 is also worth mentioning.

I was originally going to go with an AiO liquid cooler., but I became concerned about the pump breking down or leaks happening without my knowledge, and my cpu getting fried as a result. I've had air coolers before and the fans break down sure but you know instantly when they do, and they are an easy fix when that happens. Which is why Im looking at air coolers now.

Also I was under the impression that liquid coolers were superior to air cooling, which really doesn't seem to be the case from what I have read, you get a 2 or 3 degree decrease in core temp but thats really all.

at least from what I've read so far

It really depends on which air cooler your comparing to which AIO liquid cooler. And as for the leaking part, those odds are very slim and i Highly doubt it would happen given you buy a AIO from a good Brand. And even in the really far of chance it does happen. Corsair is well known for repaying for any damages along with replacing your AIO for a new one. Youll have a hard time trying to get a good AIO Cooler to leak on you these days, they'v came a long way in quality. I recommend you take a leap of faith as the rest of us who use Liquid coolers, You won't be disappointed.

If clearance is a big issue, then you could also look at the D14 (as was mentioned) or a D12.

Do you still use an AiO? or did you switch to Air coolers? if you didn't why did you stay with water cooling?

Cooler Master replaced it with a Glacer 240L. I was a little hesitant to go with watercooling again after the near miss. However I did install it and I haven't had any issues with it in the little over a year that it's been running.

As for why, I really wanted to get into watercooling. My computer is marginally cooler, but definitely quieter with my AiO. And more importantly I'm cheap, I spent a lot on the Eisberg 240L and having an unused Glacer 240L sitting around not being used didn't sit well with my cheap side. I could have sold it, but even though it was brand new, no one would have given me new price for it.
