Hello guys. I want to record gameplay at 1080p 60 FPS. My specs are on my info. I have tried DxTory, Bandicam, MSI Afterburner, AMD Gaming Evolved (Raptr), Fraps, and OBS. I've tried every possible setting, and the video always ends up with forced down bitrate due to heavy CPU load, FPS dips in the video, bad frame rate output, and sometimes crashed the game. I can't tell if it's my CPU, that is not strong enough to record at 1080p60FPS. It works fine with 720p60 and 1080p30. When I'm recording any game, I lose about 10 frames per second in game, so sometimes it makes it unplayable. On my YouTube channel, I do benchmarks for my system, and I want the best possible performance while recording so that it is as accurate as possible. Thanks in advance. :)

I'd suspect a slow storage drive over a CPU like the FX-8320 to be the problem. Good storage drives can really make a huge difference when recording. You're saying you use Western Digital as your HDD. Which model and how old?

I just did DxTory test, and I swapped the output file from a 50GB partition to the main HDD. Went from 50mb/s write speed to 100mb/s write speed. It didn't help much, but I did find the best settings that work for me. Bandicam is probably my favorite recording software. I just set the FPS to VFR instead of CFR, and it runs butter smooth. I also use the MJPEG codec which is the only one that I tested that didn't have much impact on my in-game FPS.

I still haven't tried settings my SSD as the output folder, which could really good, but again It's got like 60GB free I don't want to flood it XD
