So, lately i have excperienced a lot of framerate inconsistency in cs:go. I get an average of 150 fps, min fps is 80, and max is about 350. I think this is weird, scince i am running the game on an AMD Fx 8320, and a MSI 760, with 1280x960 res, and everything on low.
I just think this is a bit odd, scince i have seen other people get at least 200-300 fps on this setup.
I appreciate if you could help me out, as i am planning of getting a 144hz monitor. :)

Solution
Post your full system specs including motherboard and power supply. Throttling on the CPU is a possibility if you have components that can't handle the high power draw of the 8 core FX CPUs. You might also want to check temperatures with AMD overdrive to make sure you're not overheating.

Using the m5a97 mobo, and the stock amd cooler. I have run tests though, and cpu temp was about 63 degrees core temp at most while playing. Socket temp was max 73. I tried to OC to 8350 speeds, and then i got a bluescreen. Could it be my cooling needs an upgrade?

The AMD stock cooler really isn't adequate for the 8 core FX CPUs, so upgrading your CPU cooler can help. There are many different Asus M5A97 motherboards, only the R2.0 and EVO models are really adequate for the 8 core FX CPUs, and that's only if you're not overclocking them. The R1.0, LE, and Plus models have weak VRMs that are uncooled, and that can cause throttling even at stock speeds. If you want to overclock, you'd probably want to look at a new motherboard entirely.

Sorry, should habe been more spesific, im running the R 2.0. Anyway Would the 212 EVO do for my FX, or do i need something better? :)

The 212 Evo is a decent cooler as long as you don't want to push an extreme overclock on your CPU, in which case you'd want something more high end. The Cryorig H7 is a slightly better cooler available for the same price as the 212 Evo, but it isn't available in all markets.

Do be aware that the VRMs on your board aren't that great, and may lose a bit of cooling by switching from the stock coolers top down blower to a tower style cooler, so you may want to look at getting a case fan that can blow some air across the VRMs to help keep them cool.

Ok, thank you for the help! Apprrciate it :) I have the cooler master HAF 912, and i think it will keep the vrms nice and cool still!
