my monitor and keyboard are not working

hello friends
i m having trouble trying to start the pc
when i press the power button of the cpu it starts up
mouse light is also on and dvd writer is working fine
but there is no display on monitor
and key board is not working too

cpu fan is also working
so what has happened to my pc
which part has gone wrong?
plz help

Bad power supply can cause damage to the motherboard, and for such and old system you are better or replacing then repairing. You need to try motherboard and possibly power supply to see which is the cause of the issue, either may be it.

intel core 2 duo
intel motherboard d945 series
intex power supply
transced 2gb ram 1x
samsung ata 160gb hdd
lg 700 e monitor crt
