Hi guys so i've been wondering through this major update.my cpu right now is dual core 3 GHZ with LGA775 motherboard and im planning to upgrade.
Is this spec great or bottleneck and what should i add or remove?
My budget is between 700-800 USD.all suggestion is welcomed.
Here's the spec.
Processor:i5 6500
Mobo:z170a pc mate
GPU:asus nvidia gtx 950
RAM:corsair vengeance LPX pc19200(4x2 GB)
Fan casing:cooler master sickleflow blue led(4 pieces)
Heatsink:cooler master hyper 212x turbo
Hard drive:SSD or HDD?
Sound card:dedicated or on-board?
Case:cheap one, middle tower with good airflow system and ventilation
Power supply:cheap but good quality(around 30-40$ with 500-600 watt)

Also is SSD needed for OS?is it worth the cost?

Solution
No need for the CPU cooler, the stock one will work fine. I would wait on the sound card, too, since onboard audio is getting much better. I think the quality of the Gigabyte is a littel better than the MSI, but if you like the looks or features better, go for it. Use an SSD for the OS and programs and use the HDD for storage.

Well here's the think, people say SSD didnt affect gameplay,so i probably don't need samsung 850 evo,and that gpu you listed worth 300 dollars here in indonesia, but otherwise it's all great, any suggestion on the gpu?

MSI, EVGA and others have overclocking software for graphics cards on their websites. It's fairly simple, although no guarantees about how much you will be able to overclock any card.

In all but very demanding applications and heavy multitasking, the i3 6100 does better than the AMD processors. With video cards, that's another story. Depending on how much you allow for your graphics card, an AMD GPU may make for sense. It also depends somewhat on your power supply and what resolution monitor you will be using. If an R9 380 is available to you in your country, it may be worth taking a look at. In the US, it's priced slightly higher than the GTX 960. The R7 370 is priced lower than the GTX 950, but doesn't have as good of performance , so those are your options.

Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3
nVidia GeForce GTX 960 EVGA SSC
G.Skill 8GB TridentZ 2133 Mhz
Samsung 850 EVO 120 GB m.2 for the OS (Windows 10 64x with Skylake chips ALL THE WAY) 13x performance boost dude!
No fuss without sound cards, I guess on-board is more than OK.
NZXT Source 530 (yeah, that price for full-tower is right)
EVGA 550 G2

Yay, SSD for OS worth it ;)

Not that I know of, lol. But you could use an H110 chipset motherboard, cheaper case and smaller HDD to save more money without affecting game performance.
