SSD reporting SMART failure on Wear Leveling Count - but investigation seems like it is within threshold

I have owned this MacBook Pro for about 1 year 6 months, and for the past 8-9 months or so it has been telling me the start up disk has critical errors and that i need to replace it. I have ignored these errors and nothing bad has happened, because, hey how bad could it be? (everything is backed up so i can restart on a new drive if i really have to)

I just tried to update the OS, and it would not let me due to a SMART error, so i used DriveDx to see what was happening, and it looks like (screenshot below) the value for the error is within tollerance at 28?

So the questions are:

The raw value looks like some crazy hex value - what is going on here?
Do i actually have an issue here or it it just missreporting because of some error in the monitoring?

I have also posted a screenshot of another program called SMART utility just in case DriveDx was wrong

Many thanks in advance!

When it comes to storage, warnings should always be taken seriously. Because in the end, we don't know if the system is going to fail now or in 3 months.

So in that regard, it's good you've backed everything up. I think it's unlikely to be an error in SMART itself. It's just like if you get an error about a bad

sector. It may not black out your computer right away, but it could. That's the idea of SMART; to warn you of possible impending failure.

Problems in storage could cause things like file corruption; which is relevant if your files are valuable. So be careful.
