So I have a TV tuner set up with Windows Media Center and a lot of times when I go to change the channel, the cable box only registers that I pressed the firs one or two numbers of the channel number. I saw somewhere that this could be because the IR blaster sends the signal too fast but is there any way to slow it down?

Solution
I don't have an IR blaster but I have encountered similar situations with my universal remote, and it's fixed the following manner:

My remote let me: Insert pauses between key press. Somewhere in the manual says some receivers accepts 2 rapid codes sequences in succession and am able to tell it to send a single sequence only.

Thank you for taking to time to try and help me out, but I do not have this option. My remote came with a USB IR receiver/blaster device that I bought because WMC told me I needed one to use my TV tuner.

Are you giving up easily?

So currently you have some sort of remote, with minimum to no programability. You can transfer this remote codes to a universal which may have more capability. Unfortunately am not able to suggest what universal u should get.
