I'm trying to upgrade my HP Pavilion P7 1234 CPU to one with better performance. Here are the specs (http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03363664 ). I also upgrade the gpu to the Asus 7770 and the cpu to the EVGA 500w. I'm looking at this cpu (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CLBZAWY/ref=sr_ob_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1457735663&sr=8-10&refinements=p_89%3AIntel%7CAMD%7CDell%7CGigabyte%2Cp_85%3A2470955011 ), this cpu (http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD6300WMHKBOX-FX-6300-6-Core-Processor/dp/B009O7YORK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457735663&sr=8-1&keywords=cpu&refinements=p_89%3AIntel%7CAMD%7CDell%7CGigabyte%2Cp_85%3A2470955011 ), and this cpu (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BIWKNAK/ref=sr_ob_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1457737174&sr=8-5&refinements=p_89%3AIntel%7CAMD%7CDell%7CGigabyte ). Which one will work best for what I have. I'm trying to spend 100$ or less. Also would I have to buy a new cpu cooler with these?

Best CPU for the FM1 mobo is the A8 3870K but it is not really a significant improvement over the A6 3650. To see a significant improvement you need to get at least two tiers up on this hierarchy chart.

This means you would be looking at a FX 6350 or FX4350 or on the intel side an i3-4170 as I have suggested.

Second point to be made here is that the motherboard you have chosen is an ATX form factor while your current mobo is micro-ATX. There is a significant chance that the ATX (much bigger in size) will not fit. If you want to stick with AMD, here is a combo that I would suggest.

Okay, before you buy anything you need to make sure about your motherboard socket. The link you supplied shows an FM1 motherboard and the CPU's you are listing are AM3+ (FX 4350), AM3+ (FX 6300) and FM2+ (860K). These are not compatible and won't work with your current motherboard.

The FM1 socket is quite outdated now and your upgrade paths are quite limited. The best CPU I can see is the A8 3870K.

But this is not a big bump in performance compared to the A6 3650, it is likely not noticeable.

A proper upgrade would need to replace the motherboard and a question would be is it worth it to upgrade this PC or just start anew. Let me know if you need more advice.

This combo should work. It will be a significant improvement but your $100 goes out the window. Upside is that with the 54W CPU you might not need to replace your 300W PSU, saving you money there.

So would there be any AMD cpu's that would work with this motherboard. Also I have a 500w EVGA psu and a ASUS 7770 2gb gpu in my computer already so power and graphics wouldn't be a problem. If I bought the computer with no OS and I put one on there would I still have to contact Microsoft? Thank you for your responses.

Would this motherboard and cpu combo work?

For the OS issue, it depends on whether you have registered your OS with Microsoft. If you did then the mobo info was sent with the registration. It really is not that much of an issue, I have done this before and it is not hard.
