I have a fx-8350, 8 GB of ram, MSI 970 gaming motherboard, Gigabyte R9-390, and a 750 watt power supply. When i turned on my system, i got no post beeps and no video to my monitor. I then tried to remove the ram from my computer to force it to error code, and i didn't get a post beep. After that, i did the single stick of ram, no luck, and then switched the ram sticks, and still didn't get anything. Finally, I took of my CPU cooler, checked for any thermal past on the socket (which there wasn't any) and powered on my system without a CPU cooler. Knowing its a AMD, it should have been able to cook a steak after 5 minutes but I didn't get any heat out of it. Is it dead, or is there another problem with my system?

It is the cpu then, the cpu is supported by the mobo (https://us.msi.com/file/test_report/TR19_3193.pdf) so yeah, keep it around, just use the old cpu you had or get a new one, up to you, it seems to be dead though and if you have a warranty on it then I would send it back

If you are not getting any heat from the cpu that means it is not getting any power, have you checked if the cpu is missing any pins? (this could take 5 minutes to be sure), if all pins are there then something is dead, maybe a few traces near the cpu (even if mobo is dead, most of the times it still will make your cpu a toaster unless the traces going to the cpu are dead) or the cpu itself is dead, it is either of the two which are dead (most likely the cpu), I would get a friend to allow you to test your cpu in their system or if you have another system to test it in

Thjanks for the help. All the pins are there and arent bent. I also forgot to mention that my mobo isnt dead. it worked perfectly fine with my 8320, so it is the CPU.

yeah probably, I wouldnt throw it away just yet though until you test the new cpu you may get (so you can return it if needed and keep your previous unless the one is better), I would go through more steps like are all the front panel headers correct? When was the last time you tested the mobo with the other parts? Is your buzzer not working (and you gpu is not working, rare for both to stop working all of a sudden)
